Keeping it on the Surface
You can count on the HooBlade bringing whatever you are pulling to the surface at 4-6knots (depending on set up). To keep it on the surface like a "bird", raising the pull point with outriggers or running it off rod tips may be necessary at slower speeds or with heavier lures.
6 Knots or Less Below the Surface
Best run off the flat lines, running below the surface at these speeds (without the use of a planer or down-rigger) requires the most finesse. While lowering your pull-point is by far the best option, adding weight and running further back will also net you higher speeds. See "Rigging" tab above for details.
6 Knots Plus
Beyond six knots, a planer is a great option as well as a down-rigger or Troll Pro. Beyond planer speeds, trolling lead or heavy lures are a must. See "Rigging the HooBlade" for planer details.
